new photographic work by G.M. Donley

: Time Elapsed presents 8 expansive photographic montages that explore movement and meaning.  Melding the intimate with the comprehensive, the literal with the poetic, history with immediacy, the art of G. M. Donley compresses while it expands.  A 5-hour ferry ride between a Finnish harbor and a Baltic island becomes a 10-foot-long roundtrip visual narrative layering 87 sequential photographs of human activity and geological sublimity, multiplicity and directness.  A walk along Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade route turns street photography cinematic.  Look across and into these works--you will learn to see, read, and feel the artist's varied vantage points and contextually obtuse and poignant responses to his surroundings.  In grand scale, here are works that are perceptive, current, reflective eulogies of place, people and presence.
